Thistle Airways has now entered its 3rd year as a leading Virtual Airline for Scotland and Europe. The Airline has completed a number of flights in the last 2 years and is continuing to thrive.
With the Airline continuing to grow it has been agreed to accept invitations from people for improvement in the organisation of the airline and suggestions for this should be put to the board for discussion.

Everything going well operational in the second year of the Airline with a good number of pilots on the roster. We have requested that it is now mandatory for all pilots to complete a flight a calendar month to remain active. Suggestions always welcome to the staff.

The Airline is proud to anounce its 1st birthday. Its been a exciting year and all current activities have shown a good bit of interest with the members. Changes are brewing for year 2 including, new routes, new fleet, new livery and lots more. Well with the new year around the corner and a very active time had by all at the Airline since its launch in April 2006, the staff at Thistle Airways would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.

Exciting times ahead for the Airline with the acquisition of more aircraft to the fleet and adjustment to the current Schedules. Some chages to the web site are expected soon so keep watching for more news in the forum.
Boeing 747-400, Embraer ERJ 145 and an alternative paint scheme ATR are now available.

In keeping with the actions of the 1st on-line meeting last week, the Airline has added a Beech Baron 58 training aircraft to the fleet. See Downloads section for details. More fleet additions to come in the near future

The airline is adding both new routes and aircraft to the fleet during the next few days and is also proud to be a Vatsim Certified Virtual Airline.

The expanse of the airline has been good over the last few weeks, with 22 registered pilots, the airline is growing and looking forward to an enjoyable period of lots of flying hours being logged.

The airline is proud to announce the appointment of Craig Workman as Events Manager, Craig has been involved in flight sim for a few years and is currently working on obtaining his Controller status with Vatsim, also the appointment of Kevin Paterson as the Media Manager. Kevin as been about FS for a while and is keen to drive us forward on the media side of the operation as well as flying duties.

Membership databases now online and Crew area completed. Members can now be approved and downloads of the fleet made.

Applications to join the airline can now be made. Approval system hopefully getting underway in the next couple of days.

Members database almost there, at testing stage before adding to website. Plans to work on the crew centre after that.

The first online flight was flown today by the Chairman, EGLL to EHAM. Quite an uneventfull flight and safe landing at 18R at Schipol. Some activity on the way and was nice to receive ATC at Amsterdam. Boeing 737-700 performed well in the conditions.
Databases are being constructed at the moment for members, schedules and Pireps and the airline is hoping to have these active and fully operational by the end of this week. More news on progress to follow.

Thistle Airways has been born. Amongst a good bit of thought, the Airline has emerged at long last and hopefully will go from strength to strength providing the enjoyment required from Flight Simulator. Obviously still at an early stage of development, the web site is available and aircraft are there for downloading. Unfortunately, only available to payware models at the moment but through time should be available for the freeware simmers alike. Suggestions on the site are welcome as onward development is very important to the success of any airline company whether real world or virtual. More news on progress to be posted soon.
